The Administrative Location of Komodo Island In Indonesia

Many people especially the tourists, scientists and also the naturalists that had been coming to Komodo Island might don't know exactly where does the location of Komodo Island, administratively.

As one of the province in Indonesia, East Nusa Tenggara become the province where Komodo Island located. To be exact, the location is at Regency of West Manggarai, District of Komodo. Komodo District consists of a part of the mainland in Flores Island, Komodo Island, Rinca Island and other small islands.

The capital of the district itself is at Labuan Bajo Village as on the first lists above. And the Komodo Village itself from above lists is one of the most remoted area in the district due to its geographical location is the outermost of West Manggarai regency. The temperature in this village is colder than most coastal areas because it's located between the valley of Mount Ara.

Making a wooden statue with a figure of komodo animals is also one of the livelihoods of the local residents in Komodo Village, in addition to a local or tourism guide, traditional fishermen, and also as a force in the Komodo National Park.

The name of the tribe in this village also called the same with the village which is tribe of Komodo and being believed to have the capability of communicating with the komodo dragons due to a myth that they were born of one mother.
